Effective Camera Shots and Editing in Horror Trailers

- Jump cut
Where consecutive camera shots are cut from one moment in time to
possibly an hour or so later
- Discontinuous editing
- Montage
- Fade through black
- Text/Voice over
- Long shot to close up (very few middle shots)
Creates the enigma code of what happens in between shots e.g. Setting(long shot)to Reaction to something(close up)Enigma code: What is he/she reacting to?
- POV/handheld POV
This allows the shot to appear from a characters point of view. In horror this could be used in a chase scene as the victim runs away/tries to escape panicked, or even the victim looking out at the threat from a hiding place/threat looking into the victims hiding place
